Senada Demirović Habibija

She was born on April 30th 1975 in Mostar.
She got the title of graduate engineer of architecture in 2000 at the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo. From 2000 to 2003, she worked as an architect in the Aga Khan Trust for Culture/World Monuments Fund office in Mostar. Since 2003, she works in the Department for Urban development of the City of Mostar as an expert advisor for urban planning.
She got her PhD in the field of urban reconstruction, at Sarajevo Faculty of Architecture. Since 2018, she has been engaged as a senior assistant in the study program Interior Design and at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar. In 2019, she founded the non-governmental organization Urban House IDEAA Mostar.
With the breadth of her education, interests and her successful professional activity and activism, she profiled herself for scientific research work in a wide field of activity, from the preservation of architectural heritage, through the field of modern urbanism and architecture. From the beginning of her career until today, she has been involved in a large number of local and international projects, educational programs and conferences, and she has been the organizer of a significant number of architectural events in Mostar. Two projects in which she participated, which are historically the most significant for post-war Mostar, are the inscription of Mostar on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2005) and the candidacy of the city of Mostar for the European Capital of Culture 2024 (2019). In addition to knowledge of mother tongue, she actively speaks English, French and Italian. She is the mother of three children.
